Well that sucked.
May. 15th, 2004 03:32 pmI think it's the air around the PPC headquarters but my powers seem to go haywire more often there than any where else. The other night they went really haywire. Up and fwoophed. Vanished for a bit. I had a sneezing fit. I think it was some of that sue powder or something that was haning around... must be allerigic to it. But instead of turning me into a Sue (which would be redundant) it turned me normal.
Human.
Without magic. Without powers. Without anything. Not even a hint of empathy.
It was like being struck deaf dumb and blind. I mean I could still see and hear and feel stuff, but it wasn't as... there wasn't all the other stuff there too. The music of the Omniverse wasn't there. I couldn't sense the lines of power that run through things. The strings and matter of the universe. I couldn't even feel the normal wizarding background noise I guess you could call it. The fire and earth and air and water all sort of have a tune that as an elemental wizard I can manipulate. It's been with me my entire life. It lets me know where I am. Keeps me grounded in whatever reality - whatever world I'm in. Which is a good because I'm out of phase with reality enough as it is.
But I just felt so stifled. So numb. How can normal people stand it? Not being able to hear what the stars sing or see the life of people.
I don't know.
Teena decided to help, by I guess it was finding my power and funneling it back into me.
Dumb. Dumb idea.
You can't really channel chaotic energy safely. It tends to drive people insane with all the possiblities. Drove me properly nutters. Some of it stuck on her. I can feel it writhing and infecting her. I wouldn't say it likes her. More like it's just like a fungus trying to grow on a new host. Will have to try and scrape it off of her.
I think my insainity's a bit different from most people's insanity. It's like I know everything. But I'm trying to proccess it through a human frame of mind. A human mind can't really handle that.
It was actually kinda nice being sane... even if it was for a little bit. I haven't been sane in ... forever.
Lorac really got the short end of the stick this time. The breaking of the empathic link sorta snapped his brain. He went kinda Rincewind after being stuck on an island and then dragged back to Ank-Morpark nutters. Glomped right onto me like a magnent. Irvine had to knock him out.
Afterwards we talked.
If you want to know about what, shove off.
